Vaginosis Symptoms

Some vaginosis symptoms may mimic symptoms of vaginal dysplasia, caused by HPV. Many women have this and are unaware they are infected until they are diagnosed during a routine pelvic exam and Pap smear. Symptoms are itching and burning and an unpleasant, fishy odor. Treatment is simple and effective once the infection is diagnosed. Some vaginosis symptoms may mimic symptoms of vaginal dysplasia, caused by HPV.

It is important not to douche during the few days preceding a visit to your doctor as it can hide signs of the infection and make the condition worse. Some ways to prevent vaginal infections are never to douche, this upsets the balance of organisms in the vagina, avoid tight clothing. Some vaginosis symptoms may mimic symptoms of vaginal dysplasia, caused by HPV.
