Gardnerella Vaginosis

Gardnerella vaginosis is not caused by a virus, although oral herpes and genital herpes are. This is an infection of the vagina also known as BV. The infection is caused by an imbalance of bacteria that live naturally in your vagina. Some causes may be strong soaps or bubble baths, douching, antibiotic medicines, and tight pants. Symptoms are an abnormal vaginal discharge with a strong fishy smell. Donít have sex while being treating, and take the medication your doctor prescribes exactly as directed. Take showers instead of baths, donít douche and wear underpants and pantyhose that have cotton linings in the crotch. Gardnerella vaginosis is not caused by a virus, although oral herpes and genital herpes are.
