Thinprep Pap Smear

A thinprep pap smear cannot detect an urinary infection, but if you have an abnormal vaginal discharge, you should go through this test immediately. The new method has been suggested by Cytyc Corporation and has proved to be an effective tool in identifying atypical, precancerous (especially Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial), and cancerous cells. Eventually, cervical cancer is detected too late to be cured resulting in many deaths. It is believed that much of the sample taken during Papanicolaou test is discarded before it is placed on the glass slide, which increases the chance of false negative results. Replacing Papanicolaou test that is less accurate due to certain factors. This recent method is an approved substitute.
