With a thin pap smear it is possible to detect wart and other disorders on the cervix. All this leads to many wrong diagnoses and serious consequences. Despite a great decrease in deaths, Papanicolaou test has a number of drawbacks. Developed by Cytyc Corporation, this method of detecting abnormalities in the cervical cells has proved to be more effective and accurate in comparison with the traditional Papanicolaou test that has been used for decades.
