There are many reasons for abnormal pap smear; the minor disorders detected in the cervix are usually treated with cryosurgery, such as venereal wart. Cancerous cells require sometimes offensive treatment. Atypical cells may appear due to injuries or vaginal infections and are the most easily cured condition. Cells may be atypical, pre-cancerous, and cancerous and are classified according to one of the evaluation systems.
