Abnormal Pap Smear Pregnancy

Even with abnormal pap smear pregnancy, cone biopsy and other treatments are not performed; all HPV-related disorders are removed after delivery. If a problem has been identified, treatment may be applied after the baby is delivered. In this case, colposcopy may be performed that is also a safe means of examining the cervical cells. Sometimes, it is hard to diagnose the condition and say if the cells are malignant or not. Even with abnormal pap smear pregnancy, cone biopsy and other treatments are not performed; all HPV-related disorders are removed after delivery.

It consists of taking a scrape from the cervical cells and examining it in a lab for abnormalities that could be suggestive of cervical cancer or other problems. Performing Papanicolaou test in pregnant women is absolutely safe for both mother and baby.
