Unexplained Infertility

Unexplained infertility may be linked to the presence of HPV, which is detectable with a pap smear. This condition is also called idiopathic and refers to the cases in which standard testing has not found a cause for the failure to conceive. “Standard testing” and what it consists of is not agreed upon universally. 0-25% of infertile couples fall into this category. So many things have to happen in perfect order to conceive that there are literally hundreds of molecular and biochemical events that have to take place in order to have a pregnancy develop.
