HPV Type

Not any hpv type can lead to plantar wart or cervical dysplasia; some strains are harmless. The ‘high risk’ strains cause dysplasia or cancer and the ‘low risk’ cause warts. A person can also carry both ‘high risk’ and ‘low risk’ viruses at the same time. It is common for a person infected with the virus to be infected with several strains. Not any hpv type can lead to plantar wart or cervical dysplasia; some strains are harmless.

Plantar Wart, Cervical

The location of tissue seems to determine which type of virus will be present. Others cause genital warts and can cause cervical ones. Some cause the common skin warts found on hands and feet. There are over 100 strains of the human papilloma virus. Not any hpv type can lead to plantar wart or cervical dysplasia; some strains are harmless.
