The only method for hpv detection in the cervix is a Pap smear test; a verruca on the skin is diagnosed visually. In order to detect the infection, specialists look for the problems the virus may cause: dysplasia or genital warts. These types are usually not transmitted through sexual activity. Some types of the infection manifest themselves in common warts on the hands or feet. Genital warts are visible symptoms of the disease. These germs can be transmitted from person to person by direct contact with the areas infected. There are over 100 germs known as human papilloma viruses, about 30 types of which are sexually transmitted.
