HPV 16

The strain hpv 16 is a high-risk type of HPV, and is often accomanied by infections such as lichen sclerosis and other strains of human papilloma virus. This is a preventable disease if detected early. Cancers of the cervix are the second most common of all cancers of women worldwide. Cancers found in the cervix are the first major solid tumor cancers to be identified as being caused by a virus(Human Papilloma Virus). Lichen Sclerosis, Human Papilloma Virus

These types are 16, 18, 31, and 45, and cause dysplastic tissue. Other more serious types of the genital strains of the virus are associated with cancer. Studies have shown that the Human Papilloma Virus is the primary cause of cancers of the cervix.
