HPV Pap

The combined testing of HPV-Pap smears will detect the virus strains that causes genital condyloma that locate on the cervix and cause dysplasia. Human Papillomavirus testing will often follow an abnormal Papanicolaou Smear test results. Few women are aware that the abnormal results of a Papanicolaou test are usually linked to the virus human papilloma. The strains of this virus that cause cervical dysplasia and cancer are strains 16, 18, 31, and 45. The combined testing of HPV-Pap smears will detect the virus strains that causes genital condyloma that locate on the cervix and cause dysplasia.

Condyloma, Cervix

Abnormal cervical cells may resolve on their own without treatment. However, some untreated cervical cell changes can lead to cervical cancer. A positive Papanicolaou test may be a sign of various changes in the cervix tissue; inflammation, very early signs of cancer, more serious signs of cancer or advanced cancer. Risk factors for cancer are many sexual partners, smoking, sexual activity at an early age or being infected with a STD by a partner. The combined testing of HPV-Pap smears will detect the virus strains that causes genital condyloma that locate on the cervix and cause dysplasia.
