There is no cure for any type of herpes, small verruca or oral herpes may cause pain, but often are asymptomatic. Antibacterial soap and antiviral medication can help make the outbreak subside in the shortest time possible. The outbreaks can be prevented by avoiding exposure to heat, cold, managing stress, and improving the immune system. Once the virus enters the body, it cannot be fought successfully. The mechanism of getting infected is similar with the virus affecting nerve ganglia and causing recurrent outbreaks from time to time. They are acquired through secretions from labial/oral or genital areas. There are two strain of HSV virus that lead to labial and genital infections -- HSV-1 and HSV-2. There is no cure for any type of herpes, small verruca or oral herpes may cause pain, but often are asymptomatic.
