Herpes cold sores on the face or genital herpes characterized with condyloma cannot be treated completely. Patients usually suffer from lesions on the mouth, lips, gums, the inside of the cheeks, enlarged lymphatic nodes, and other symptoms. It is not clear what makes the virus activate, yet sunlight, medicines that weaken the immune system, and other factors are believed to have links to the outbreak. The virus sticks to certain cells in the body and does not show its presence except when it is active. The disease is most frequently caused by HSV-1, yet can result from HSV-2.
