Herpes Cold Sores

Herpes cold sores are sometimes mistaken for verruca, but herpes and HPV wart viruses are completely different. These infections are very common and usually appear in childhood. The disease is most frequently caused by HSV-1, yet can result from HSV-2. The virus sticks to certain cells in the body and does not show its presence except when it is active. It is not clear what makes the virus activate, yet sunlight, medicines that weaken the immune system, and other factors are believed to have links to the outbreak. Patients usually suffer from lesions on the mouth, lips, gums, the inside of the cheeks, enlarged lymphatic nodes, and other symptoms. Herpes cold sores are sometimes mistaken for verruca, but herpes and HPV wart viruses are completely different.
