There are the following treatments that have been proved in controlled trials to have a significant benefit. These the antiviral agents referred to: aciclovir, famciclovir, valaciclovir, as well as some other agents not used as widely, such as penciclovir. When treating genital herpes, cryotherapy commonly used for condyloma, is not an option.
