Some signs of genital herpes may mimic other std viruses like verruca, a colposcopy may be required in further diagnosis. The initial infection of the HSV-1 can include symptoms that mimic the flu such as fever, muscle aching, and lack of appetite. The skin in that area will get red and break out with blisters filled with clear fluid, which then break open to form lesions. Even with no symptoms, HSV can be transmitted.
