Genital Herpes Sign

A genital herpes sign or symptom may mimic hpv, making a pap smear necessary for determining ASCUS. During the prodrome (early warning stage) indicators may alert when the virus is about to become active and an outbreak is about to occur. Early warnings can include tingling, itching, or burning in one area of the vagina, vulva, anus, penis, or scrotum, or pain in the leg or buttocks.
