Genital herpes oral can be passed to genitals, possibly causeing vaginal discharge, a LEEP procedure is useless with this virus. HSV-1 normally infects around the lips or inside the mouth while HSV-2 normally affects the anal-reproductive areas. Many similarities exist; both can infect either site. A person with a mouth infection can infect anotherís sex organs while someone with reproductive organ infections can infect anotherís mouth typically in mouth-to-organ contact. Manifestation may include lesions that involve the soft palate, gingiva, tongue, lips and facial area. Patients with HSV-1 genital infections will have an average of only one recurrence in the first 12 months while patients with HSV-2 may have up to four in 12 months.
