Virally induced outbreaks occur mostly about the labia, vagina, perineum or rectal regions. Infection carries little harm in adults except in situations of HPV positive women who are at risk for cervical malignancies or women who are latently infected during pregnancy requiring cesarean section delivery to avoid neonatal transmission.
