Genital Herpes Complication

A common genital herpes complication is the risk of encephalitis and in adults other genital herpes infections may be present as well as the vaginal wart HPV virus. HSV may enhance the risk of encephalitis in HIV children, infants and people. Unmanaged, a pregnant mother may transmit the virus to her unborn and serious neonatal neurological disorder or demise may occur. Women having HPV and HSV are more likely to develop cervical malignancies although the relationship is unknown. A common genital herpes complication is the risk of encephalitis and in adults other genital herpes infections may be present as well as the vaginal wart HPV virus.

Immune suppressors, such as corticosteriods and immunological diseases, suppress the immune systemís ability to combat the virus causing more severe outbreaks. HSV infection alone in adults is not a threat, however, the exchange between the effects of HSV infection and host cell immune action is a major consideration.
