Over the counter warts treatment for facial wart is not suitable for all HPV warts, thus, it is prudent to check with a physicain before administation. The condition is usually caused by human papilloma viruses. Infection affects the skin and mucous membranes; it can occur in any age, but increases at 12-16 years. The disease is asymptomatic, but may cause cosmetic disfigurement and tenderness. Malignant change is rare. There is no ideal remedy. Cure measures are: benign neglect (not recommended for extensive and spreading disease), topical agents (salicylic acid, cantharidin, podophyllin, imiquimod, cidofovir, podophyllotoxin, and tretinoin), intralesional injections (bleomycin, interferon alpha), systemic agents (cimetidine and retinoids), and alternative remedies.
