Treatment Of Genital Warts

Treatment of genital warts does not necessarily prevent recurrence of the condyloma or associated urethritis. All methods are aimed at destruction of the warty growth rather than elimination of the virus. Subclinical infection may be lifelong, and there is no remedy eliminating the cause of the problem. Infected people should always use condoms not to transmit the virus to uninfected partners. Treatment of genital warts does not necessarily prevent recurrence of the condyloma or associated urethritis.

Standard therapies remove most or the problem. They are: caustic/acids, podophylin resin, imiquimod cream, interferon, podophylox, and HPV vaccines, which is being developed. Cryosurgery is very effective for treating multiple, small disorders on the genitalia, but itís not effective curing the rectum area. Treatment of genital warts does not necessarily prevent recurrence of the condyloma or associated urethritis.
