Mouth Wart

Mouth wart is rarely the same HPV virus that causes cervical cancer unless oral sex with a partner having a genital condyloma occurred. Risks of oral HPV are not clear. Cervical cancer is on the decline, however, oral lesions are on the rise. Women who take highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) for abnormal cervical lesions and who have rectal lesions are more likely to develop oral manifestations. Microscopic tissue examination is required for diagnosis of this condition even though some may spontaneous resolve. Medical treatment options may include of these: surgical excision, cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen) or laser vaporization and may take numerous visits with no guarantee that they won’t recur.
