A significant but small percentage of these disorders become cancers, thus, require medical services. Other changes may involve growths or lesions. Some impair cells causing abnormal cell changes called dysplasia; frequently it is revealed in routine cytology exams. Some HPV genital infections are asymptomatic and sexually transmitted without the perpetrator’s knowledge.
