There is no unique treatment of genital warts, but first the patient should have a colposcopy exam to detect the disorders caused by human papilloma virus. Cryosurgery is very effective for treating multiple, small disorders on the genitalia, but itís not effective curing the rectum area. Standard therapies for GW remove most or the problem. They are: caustic/acids, podophylin resin, imiquimod cream (Aldara), interferon, podophylox, HPV vaccines (not yet available). There is no ideal remedy for all cases. Such people should always use condoms not to transmit the virus to uninfected partners. Subclinical infection may be lifelong, and there is no remedy.
