A genital warts photo will often show several levels of severity of verruca, but the type of HPV virus that causes ASCUS is not visible to the human eye. Human papillomavirus (HPV) belongs to a group of viruses that includes more than 70 types of viruses that can cause warts or papillomas. Some types of the viruses cause the common condyloma on the hands and feet, but genitally located HPVs are sexually transmitted. A genital warts photo will often show several levels of severity of verruca, but the type of HPV virus that causes ASCUS is not visible to the human eye.

The virus that is sexually transmitted can cause the condylomas located genitally of both men and women. Some strains of the virus are associated with an increased risk of cervical cancer. Sometimes though the disease may now reveal itself and disappears quickly.
