Treatment For Genital Wart

There is no prescribed treatment for genital wart, vaginitis, or cervical cancer strains, other than surgery. Vaginal or cervical cells obtained by Pap smear or biopsies that have the "characteristic appearance of HPV-infected cells” under the microscope is usually how HPV is diagnosed. Specific blood tests may show that there has been HPV infection in the past, but they cannot determine if HPV is currently present. There is no prescribed treatment for genital wart, vaginitis, or cervical cancer strains, other than surgery.

A Digene Hybrid Capture® HPV DNA Test will also detect HPV. Women are ‘indirectly’ tested by a pap smear, which shows ‘HPV characteristics’ if the hpv has damaged any cells. The test for HPV is not routinely done so it is impossible to determine how long someone has had an infection. There is no prescribed treatment for genital wart, vaginitis, or cervical cancer strains, other than surgery.
