It is good to use condoms though they do not protect for sure as there are may be other areas that are infected and the condom doesn't cover. The virus is highly contagious and transmission results more often from the direct contact with an infected individual. Sometimes there appear small red spots that if left untreated may develop into a fleshy, cauliflower-like appearance. Sometimes people can be infected and supress the virus for several years. There are situations when children are born with venereal wart infection, or the baby may be infected while being bathed.
