Leep Therapy

A procedure called leep therapy is often done when the human papillomavirus is present, causing the vaginal or penile wart. If you have an abnormal Pap smear test, it does not necessarily mean that you will develop cancer. However, early detection and treatment of abnormalities is vitally important to avoid the possibility of cervical cancer development. This is one of the most often prescribed procedures to treat cervical dysplasia. Serious complications after this procedure are rare. Abnormal bleeding from the cervix may occur several days after the procedure. As a matter of fact, the majority of women return to normal activities within 2 to 3 days after the procedure has been performed.
