Leep Procedure Recovery

When having the leep procedure, recovery is usually complete without complications, and is performed when the HPV causing the penile wart or causing cervical dysplasia is detected. This operation is considered rather safe and simple to perform. It is normally performed in the doctor's office and takes about 20 minutes. The doctor removes the abnormal tissue from the cervix of the patient. Complications are quite rare and have a temporal nature. Such consequences as vaginal drainage or spotting are normal within 1 to 3 weeks following the procedure. A vaginal discharge is normal. After the procedure has been performed, there are certain rules of behavior a woman should follow. She should avoid heavy and vigorous activity and exercising, and abstain from sexual intercourse for about 3 weeks.
