Aided by colposcopy, leep procedure can reduce complications such as bleeding and urinary infection when removing HPV warts. The name of the procedure stands for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. This operation was created to diagnose and treat the uterine cervix in women with abnormal Pap tests. The procedure is often advised for diagnosis or treatment for dysplasia on the cervix.
