Cancer Cervical Leep

In treatment of cancer, cervical leep procedure, cryotherapy or cryosurgery can be performed. When abnormal Pap smears show signs of HPV, doctors like to know if any cancerous cells are present also. Since cancerous cells usually develop deeper into the tissue of the cervix a different procedure, like a loop electrosurgical excision procedure or cone biopsy, is done to determine if they are present. In treatment of cancer, cervical leep procedure, cryotherapy or cryosurgery can be performed.

A loop electrosurgical excision procedure is where the area of abnormal cells on the cervix is removed using an electrical wire loop. The tissue that is removed is sent to a lab to see if any cancerous cells are present and to make sure all the abnormal cells were removed. In treatment of cancer, cervical leep procedure, cryotherapy or cryosurgery can be performed.
