The conization leep procedures are performed for disorders xaused by human papillomavirus, such as genital wart, cervical dysplasia and others. Although HPV remains once the lesions are eliminated, the reoccurrence rate is fairly low since the area most susceptible to abnormal changes is removed during these procedures.
