Cervical Cryotherapy

A physician may elect to use cervical cryotherapy for hpv related dysplasia as interpreted on a Pap smear. When abnormal cells are found on the cervix from HPV, the condition is called dysplasia. If the dysplasia is at a mild level, then most of the time it is treated through a procedure that freezes the abnormal cells. Another name for this is cryosurgery. A physician may elect to use cervical cryotherapy for hpv related dysplasia as interpreted on a Pap smear.
