Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is often performed after a pap smear discovers cervical dysplasia, vaginal wart or other disorders. This procedure is performed right in the doctor’s office. When freezing warts the nitrogen is swabbed directly onto the warts, but when treating cervical dysplasia, a cryoprobe with the nitrogen running through it, is frozen and then held against the tip of the cervix. Cryotherapy is often performed after a pap smear discovers cervical dysplasia, vaginal wart or other disorders.
