Having sex after colposcopy is quite possible, but if your partner has a penile wart, use condoms to prevent infecting your cervix. Patients who have been exposed to examination with magnification are advised to restrain from intercourse for about two weeks. In some cases, biopsy may be ordered. If white cells are found on the cervix, the patient is likely to have a condition that may appear severe if left untreated. This procedure is recommended for women with positive Pap smear and is aimed at revealing the cause of cellular changes that have appeared on the cervix.
