Colposcopy Result

A colposcopy result may require a leep procedure or other treatment for the cervix. It is recommended not to use tampons and have sex for a week. Examination without biopsy doesn't have any side effects, though some pain, bleeding, and dark discharge are possible for a couple of days. A very deep biopsy may weaken the cervix. After these operations, light bleeding and pain are possible. A colposcopy result may require a leep procedure or other treatment for the cervix.

LEEP Procedure, Cervix

It may be necessary to take a sample (biopsy) from the affected area for further analysis. In some cases the treatment is performed at the same time with examination.
