A combined colposcopy leep procedure can be applied, if a woman has abnormal vaginal discharge and other symptoms typical of human papillomavirus. So the doctor knows where the abnormal areas are and how deep the cut should go into the tissue, he will put an acidic solution on the cervix and view it with a colposcope. By doing this he can make the procedure as successful as possible without taking unneeded tissue.
