Colposcopy examination of human papilloma virus impaired tissue enables the physician to better perform a cryotherapy procedure. This procedure is done to women whose Pap tests are abnormal, and there are abnormal cells on some part of the vagina or cervix (cervical dysplasia). During the procedure the doctor uses a colposcope and a speculum to look at the vagina and cervix.
