Leep Pad

When the surgery leep pad is performed, the hpv wart viruses are usually present and sypmptoms are removed with the leep procedure. The loop electrosurgical excision procedure is performed after a Pap smear test and colposcopy have shown presence of the abnormal cells in the cervix. During this procedure a thin wire carrying an electric current is used to cut away the affected cells. This procedure is usually performed in a physician’s office and takes about 20-30 minutes until the lesions are removed. Possible complications include mild pain, itching and light bleeding. The patient should not have sexual intercourse, use tampons, douche and lift heavy objects for several weeks.
