Inflamation Of The Cervix

Inflamation of the cervix may be a contributing factor in infertility, another factor may be the HPV viruses. Cervicitis is an irritation of the cervical surface and its symptoms are itching and pain during the intercourse, a bloody discharge, bleeding or spotting between periods and burning during urinating. This condition may lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) if left untreated. Inflamation of the cervix may be a contributing factor in infertility, another factor may be the HPV viruses.

This condition can be diagnosed by a pelvic examination when a sample of the discharge is tested in the lab. If there are no signs of PID, the patient has to take antibiotics for two weeks. Pelvic inflammatory disease can cause serious problems, such as infertility or severe pain.
