The diagnosis squamous metaplasia of the cervix may lead to cervical dysplasia, which is directly linked to venereal wart viruses, HPV. This condition is associated with irritation, inflammation, and low vaginal pH and is found in women of reproductive age. This disorder may lead to development of LSIL in young women, a condition, which may be precancerous, if not treated in proper time. Every woman, who is sexually active, should have regular Pap tests to avoid cervical cancer.
