A leep cone surgery is performed to diagnose the severity of dysplasia, other diagnostic tests are cryotherapy and cryosurgery. Loop electrosurgical excision procedure is used to cut away genital warts and abnormal tissues from the surface of the cervix. The procedure is rather simple and has no side effects; it allows to remove the tissue and send it to further examination. Biopsy is another method for removing abnormal tissues, which allows further examination by a pathologist. During the operation a sample is cut off from the cervix under general anesthesia. If cervical dysplasia is found, no additional therapy is needed; if it is cancer further treatment is prescribed.
