Treatment depends on the severity, risk factors, presence of HPV and other infections. High-grade lesions require immediate removal of the abnormal tissues. There exist several methods, such as LEEP or LETZ, cryosurgery and cryocauterization, laser vaporization or ablation, cone biopsy and others.
