Loop Surgery

LEEP loop surgery is usually performed on the cervical tissue when abnormalities are detected, vaginosis and other infections are not normally a determining factor. LEEP procedure uses a thin electrified wire loop to remove abnormal tissue from the surface of the cervix. It can be performed during colposcopy or instead of cone biopsy. It treats minor cell changes that may be precancerous and moderate to severe changes that are possible to remove. LEEP loop surgery is usually performed on the cervical tissue when abnormalities are detected, vaginosis and other infections are not normally a determining factor.
