Thin Prep Pap Test

A thin prep pap test will sometimes determine the cause of vaginosis but is used for HPV, occasionally further testing is necessary such as cone biopsy. This method is the only one to replace the conventional technique of examination of the cervix. This method changes the way cell samples are placed on a slide and prepared for analysis instead of rescreening and reevaluating cell samples. A thin prep pap test will sometimes determine the cause of vaginosis but is used for HPV, occasionally further testing is necessary such as cone biopsy.

Vaginosis, Cone Biopsy

The cells are collected in a usual way and then a technician rinses the entire collection device into a vial of preserving solution and sends the vial to a laboratory for microscopic analysis. The sample is purified and the cells form an even layer to analyze them.
