The virus hpv, displasia caused by the wart virus, is sometimes treated with the leep procedure. Human Papillomavirus is very common and often has no symptoms. It is easily detectable by Pap smear tests. There is currently no treatment available for the virus itself, but for the problems that it causes (cervical changes and genital warts) good treatments do exist. Wart, LEEP Procedure

In most cases the infection goes away without treatment, because the immune system finds it and suppresses, not allowing to cause problems. If often happens with young girls, but in elderly women the virus may lead to cervical changes and cancer.
