Ascus Pap Smear

An ascus pap smear result usually will point to the presence of lichen sclerosus and other HPV caused viruses. In many women, infection with certain types of Human papilloma virus is the first step in the progression of cervical cancer. This sexually transmitted disease is the main cause of cervical cancer. It induces the growth of abnormal cells that can become malignant. An ascus pap smear result usually will point to the presence of lichen sclerosus and other HPV caused viruses.
