Short Cervix

A short cervix may lead to a early miscarriage and may be a result of surgical treatment for a genital wart caused by HPV. Cervical canal about 1.5-2 inches long connects the uterus to the vagina and keeps the uterus closed. The cervical incompetence occurs when the dilation goes without contraction in mid-pregnancy. The canal may be shortened when pressure is put on the uterus. A short cervix may lead to a early miscarriage and may be a result of surgical treatment for a genital wart caused by HPV.
