Inflamation Of The Cervix

Untreated chronic inflamation of the cervix can lead to miscarriage or other infertility conditions. Cervical inflammation is commonly caused by an infection, but sometimes it is attributed to chemical exposure or a foreign body such as a cervical cap, or diaphragm. The presence of foreign objects makes the cervical tissue more susceptible to infection (irritated/raw areas, build-up of discharge, unsanitary insertion methods, etc.). Untreated chronic inflamation of the cervix can lead to miscarriage or other infertility conditions.

  -

Miscarriage, Infertility

Some symptoms are unusual vaginal discharge, abnormal vaginal bleeding, painful sexual intercourse, and vaginal pain. Symptoms are not always present. Some risk factors include the use of deodorized tampons and douches, and spermaticidal contraceptives. Monogamy and practicing safe sex are good preventative measures. Untreated chronic inflamation of the cervix can lead to miscarriage or other infertility conditions.
